Missed Orientation
I missed the International Student Orientation. What should I do?
- The International Student Orientation is provided to help you with your adjustment to the university and our culture. Sessions address immigration, education, life at College Park, health and safety, plus activities introducing you to classmates, faculty and staff. It is also a time when we are able to gather the necessary documents. If you miss or cannot attend please drop by or call IES at 301-314-4470 to request a make-up orientation session.
Necessary Documents
What documents do I need to bring with me to orientation?
- You should bring the following documents (and copies of them)
- Admission materials
- Passport
- Visa
- I-20 or DS-2019 (old and new)
- 1-94
- Proof of health insurnance
- Descriptions of any course work you would like to use toward your degree in the U.S. and any other important documents.
Why do I need to bring copies of these documents to orientation with me?
- Part of the orientation process includes time for IES advisors to review your immigration documents and retain copies for your file. If you are not able to complete a Documents Check session during orientation, plan to attend a Make-up Orientation session.

How do I register for classes as a new international student?
