J-1 Intern: Training/Internship Placement Plan

Your department will prepare and complete a Training/Internship Placement Plan (T/IPP Form DS-7002), for your internship experience. The department must obtain the requisite signatures, including yours, for the T/IPP. Once the form has all the required signatures, it will be forwarded to IES for processing and to produce the DS-2019.

During your visa interview, you must present the fully executed T/IPP to the consular official who will review your T/IPP. For each phase of your program, the T/IPP must:

• State the specific goals and objectives of the internship program
• Detail the knowledge, skills or techniques to be imparted to the intern
• Provide a chronology or syllabus
• Describe the method of performance evaluation and the supervision
